The 4" Half Round outlet is curved on the top to fit the half round gutter. Outlets are an outer transition piece that connects the gutter to a downspout. A hole is cut into the gutter where the outlet is inserted, then attached to the gutter. The downspout slips over and attaches to the outlet. This allows water to be directed seamlessly from the gutter into the downspout.
